What is the purpose of education?

Kate Flaherty (TBC) and Jon Lane will present a workshop at an event at the National Library of Australia on 28 July, co-hosted by the University of Canberra and the Australian Association for Research in Education. The event is for academics, school teachers, and educational and community leaders.

This ‘national conversation’ considers

  • What is education for?
  • What kind of education do we need in challenging times?
  • What role can the humanities and arts play in the new technological era?

Speakers include Professor Frank Bongiorno, Professor Lisa Kervin, Associate Professor David Rousell, Senator David Pocock, US Educator Jess Vance.

The Humanities for Life workshop is scheduled for 1.10 – 1.45 pm.
